Brief
Portsdown were asked to be involved in the tender for the furniture package of the new Carnival Criuse headquarters building in a prestigious location near Southamptons waterfront and ship terminal.
Our solution
Despite encountering issues such as broken lifts and in-correctly positioned floor boxes a solution to all issues was found through our close working relationship, and all floors were handed over in time for the grand opening to all the staff and local people in a special families day. Our success in this project was due largely to listening to and understanding the clients brief and providing solutions that met their exacting needs, coupled with our logistic capability to deliver large volumes in a planned and managed way.
Implementation
Working our way through the tender and then pilot evaluation, Portsdown worked closely with both the client’s IT and FM departments as well as the architect, to develop a solution that matched both their functional requirements as well as their aesthetic needs. In April we were selected as the sole supplier of workstations for the project. With a tight deadline and phased handover, Portsdown worked closely with their project manager Helen Housant to design a delivery schedule that fitted the lift access and site constraints. Supplied over a three week period over 1250 workstations were delivered and installed along with matching screens, pedestals, cable management and monitor arms.
