The NEW Vitra ID operator chair with a revolutionary design is now available from Portsdown. Health and biomechanics – The patented technology behind the ID Chair caters to healthy, comfortable seating. The synchronous mechanism “FlowMotion” supports users according to their personal weight – but not just when they are leaning back in their chair: The so-called negative tilt feature straightens the spine when sitting forward on the edge of the seat, thereby taking the strain off of it. The ID Chair enables a dynamic range of motion and provides support with individual resistance when tilting both backwards and forwards. Please login to request a Vitra ID chair brochure.

Portsdown win contract to supply Flexible and Smart working furniture to the Havant Public Service Village (PSV)
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011The PSV is a ground breaking partnership between Havant Borough Council and Hampshire County Council. It will save money and transform service delivery by bringing together a range of public and voluntary services in one location. Our expert knowledge and flexible working furniture has enabled us to win the contract to supply office seating, flexible working benches, meeting tables, and storage.
After refurbishment, the building will be able to accommodate the relocation of over 250 social care staff and other front line staff from Hampshire County Council, in addition to the 420 mainly Havant Borough Council employees based in the building, allowing other Hampshire County Council buildings to be sold. This is because the refurbishment will improve use of space and technology, and takes advantage of the fact that not all staff will use the building at the same time. Many services involve a lot of time spent working out in the community. The refurbishment will also make the building even more energy efficient with reduced running costs and a lower carbon footprint.
