Carnival UK - Mission Acomplished!

20 August 2009

Portsdown Office has just put the finishing touches to its third major headquarters contract within a year.

Carnival UK, the biggest cruise ship company in Britain, has taken receipt of 1,300 work stations for its new operational nerve centre in Southampton.

The parent company of some of the most famous names in shipping, including Cunard, P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises, appointed Portsdown Office following a particularly competitive tender.

Nearly 1,120 employees, previously spread over five offices in the city, are moving into the state-of-the-art building over August 2009 in readiness for a ‘full house’ by early September.

Andrew Kennedy, the Corporate Services Director of Carnival UK, said: “We were delighted to select Portsdown Office, following a tough and rigorous tendering process, because the firm offered a competitively-priced package with functional, aesthetic and durable equipment.

“What we have is a modern, vibrant working environment for our teams, and Portsdown was instrumental in delivering excellence.”

Peter Crompton, the sales director at Portsdown Office, said: “We offered Carnival UK the right solution - a mix of quality, aesthetics and functionality for staff, backed by a 15-year warranty.

“The scale of the job was impressive, with 1,300 work stations supplied. We also provided associated steel pedestals, screens, cable management and ergonomic monitor arms.

“Carnival UK is one of the most prestigious business names in Britain and we’re delighted to have played a part in supplying office equipment for the parent company’s landmark building.”

In the past 12 months Portsdown Office has provided in excess of 3,400 work stations to some of best-known employers in the South.

The company was chosen for Hampshire County Council’s new headquarters in Winchester and for Zurich’s head office at Segensworth, near Fareham, as well as the insurance company’s offices in Farnborough and London.
