Surrey County Council

Portsdown were delighted to be invited to tender ideas and products to enhance the new Surrey County Council HQ building in Reigate. Collaborative furniture solutions were required to welcome back staff into the Covid safe and spaced work environment across the five floors, where neighbourhoods had been created with wellbeing in mind.

Client Profile

Portsdown won the work via an open competitive tender process. We have completed consultancy, design & build plus furniture installation.

Description

Height adjustable desks were to be separated with everything that a workspace and employee might need close at hand, access to video call booths for chats with customers or colleagues at home, soft seating spaced out with laptop stands for one to one meetings, and collaborative meeting spaces.  Meeting booths that could be flexible enough to reconfigure quickly and efficiently were designed by Portsdown to include castors and a portable table and media board, this enables distancing whilst maintaining a degree of privacy and noise reduction, whilst in the future, when pushed together, they will provide a meeting booth for six. Tall stools for high-level meetings and low stools for portable, flexible tables were added along with mobile glass whiteboards that help divide the space and encourage sharing visual information during breakout meetings. The area looks stunning, and the comfort of the furniture selected along with the soft natural colour scheme will promote and attract staff back to the workplace during 2021.
